WOOD
WIZARD THEMES – 2007-2008
November Challenge
The
challenge for November will be a Christmas ornament. This has been a bit of a
tradition over the years. This does not have to be a hanging tree ornament. It can
be on a base for display on a table, hung on a wall, in the form of a broach,
and anything else you could imagine. Emphasis in judging will be based on
originality, execution, humour, or spiritual message.
January Challenge
A
bit of a personal favourite, this month the challenge
will be to carve a wooden egg. The egg may be carved in any fashion, such as
chip carved, or perhaps a face or a flower. These eggs are sometimes displayed
in an egg cup, but that is up to you. You may wish to display yours in a bird’s
nest! If you do not have a commercially shaped egg form, not
to worry. Any small block can quickly be turned into an egg shape. Lots of room in this
challenge to stretch your imagination, and have some fun. A nice little project to work on at the clutches.
