KAWARTHA CARVING COMPETITION-2008 (Note: This competition takes over from the one previously held at the Buckhorn Fine Arts Festival in August.)

 

 

Sept. 26 - 27 - Bobcaygeon - Bobcaygeon Community Center. Fees: $6.00 first carving, $4.00 each additional. Classes: Beginner, Novice, Intermediate, and Open. 21 Categories, including Waterfowl Decorative, Unpainted, Smoothie, and Stylized; Songbirds, Birds of Prey, Upland Game Birds, Wildfowl Smoothie, Wildfowl Miniature, Fish, Amphibians, Marine Mammals, Animals, Human figures, Caricatures, Novelty, relief, Chip Carving, Miscellaneous and Wood Burning. Prizes: Rosette ribbons for first, second, third in each category; Lee Valley gift certificates for best of each class - $75 first; $50 second; $25 third; Best of Show- $50 first; $25 second; $10 third. Purchase Awards: $1,000 and $500 cash.
