November 30, 2024 Introduction to Pyrography CLASS NOW FULL

Saturday, November 30, 2024 – 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM

Nepean Creative Arts Center,

     35 Stafford Road, Unit 7, Ottawa

This one-day course is designed to teach participants the basics of pyrography (Wood Burning). 

OWC member Pam Laprise has been doing pyrography since 2013. She will explain and demonstrate:

•  Supplies

• Pyrography machines/pens/tips 

• Safety- What to burn, what NOT to burn

• Wood prep, patterns and design transfer

• What can I do with one pen? Texturing

• Tips and troubleshooting

• Adding colour and finishing

• You will work on a project utilizing some of the techniques learned. We will concentrate on discovering what you can do with just 3 pen tips- a writing tip, a shader and a skew.

• Wood and pattern will be provided for this project.

Fee: OWC member $ 40

Non-member $ 70 (includes a reduced $30 annual membership fee)

Registration and payment are required in advance. First come, first served 😉

Registration deadline is, Mon, Nov. 25th, 2024

Maximum 6-8 participants depending on the number of participants who have their own burner.

Participants are asked to bring their Pyrography machine & pens/tips if they have one.

A few burners will be available for those without.

Note: a minimum of 4 participants are required to run this workshop.

Participants aged 14-17 inclusive must be accompanied by parent for the duration of the class.
