INTRODUCTION TO PYROGRAPHY

This one-day course is designed to teach participants the basics of pyrography (Wood Burning).

OWC member Pam Laprise has been doing pyrography since 2013. She will explain and demonstrate:

Supplies
Pyrography machines/pens/tips
Safety- what to burn, what NOT to burn
Wood prep, patterns and design transfer
What can I do with one pen? Texturing
Tips and troubleshooting
Adding colour and finishing
You will work on a project utilizing some of the techniques learned.
We will concentrate on discovering what you can do with just 3 pen tips- a writing tip, a shader tip and a skew.

Wood and pattern will be provided for this project which will be similar to one of the below

Fee: OWC member $ 30

Non-member $ 60 (includes a reduced $30 annual membership fee)

Registration and payment are required in advance. First come, first served 😉

Maximum 10 participants depending on the number of participants who have their own burner.

Note: minimum of 4 participants are required to run this workshop.

Participants are asked to bring their Pyrography machine & pens/tips if they have one.

A few burners will be available for those without.

Participants aged 14-17 inclusive must be accompanied by parent for the duration of the class.
