Introduction to Pyrography- Tentatively full pending availability of Wood Burners

This one-day course is designed to teach participants the basics of pyrography (Wood Burning). 

OWC member Pam Laprise has been doing pyrography since 2013. She will explain and demonstrate:

•  Supplies

•  Pyrography machines/pens/tips 

•  Safety- What to burn, what NOT to burn

•  Wood prep, patterns and design transfer

•  What can I do with one pen? Texturing

•  Tips and troubleshooting

•  Adding colour and finishing

• You will work on a project utilizing some of the techniques learned.

• We will concentrate on discovering what you can do with just 3 pen tips- a writing tip, a shader tip and a skew.

Wood and pattern will be provided for this project.

Fee: OWC member $ 40

        Non-member $ 70 (includes a reduced $30 annual membership fee)

Registration and payment are required in advance. First come, first served 😉

Registration deadline is, Mon, September 29th, 2025

Maximum 6-8 participants depending on the number of participants who have their own burner.

Participants are asked to bring their Pyrography machine & pens/tips if they have one.  

A few burners will be available for those without.

Note: a minimum of 4 participants are required to run this workshop.

Participants aged 14-17 inclusive must be accompanied by parent for the duration of the class.
